Id like to avoid having points on my license. I have a clean record. Is there anything I can do my mail like plead guilty, pay the fine but not have any points on my lic. so as not to affect my insurance rates. Id really like to do everything by mail if I can. however what are my options, if any? Not getting points on Lic. is my main goal. Thanks for your time.

No – at 30 MPH and over is a must appear in New York. 30 and over is reckless driving – rest assured you will get points if found guilty.
EDIT: FYI – In New York there is no prosecutor to speak to – each summons is argued by the issuing officer as a legal representative of the state. We also do not plea traffic summonses outside of criminal court. This is up to the administrative judge within TVB of NYS. Otherwise this is a Must Appear, and there is no fine to mail in. The fine will be levied if you are found guilty, and by the admin. judge. Only after you set a plea, or are found guilty will an administartive judge be allowed to look at your record.
No you have to go to court after so many miles over the speed limit. You can fight it an they may reduce it to maybe speeding with no points… but you do have to be there, unless you want to pay the ticket and move on.
