If an officer that drives an ALPR equipped police car sees this video and inputs your license plate of 5 ZIA 150 into his system with a note that you have a plate hider, they may have probable cause to pull you over. (Watch the Long Beach police demonstration of ALPR. Scary stuff!) I’d be inclined to redo your video with tape covering the numbers. Just trying to protect you, my friend!

yeah. I was thinking that this isn’t the best way to hide a lisense plate but i saw another video which retracts the plate and puts a fake one in it’s place. You r even more screwed if ur caught with a fake one. I just got an idea though- you could just take the lisense plate off when ur going on that road and put it in the back window in a place where the radar won’t see but still perfectly legal if a cop decides to pull you over.

I drove solo cross country a couple of times. I find it amazing that I managed to avoid getting a ticket in Arizona. I was worried I’d have highway patrol chewing my balls off. God bless my Valentine 1, Garmin Nuvi, Cobra CB and Lil Wil Antenna (surprisingly good range for a 36 incher).

My radar detector has a GPS database that is updated weekly. It marks known locations of these idiotic speedtraps. The only bad thing is there are still the mobile ones… Arizona is leading the way for these damn speedcams. They’re just revinue generators…NOT for safety. People will jam on their brakes when they see them..and if a herd of cars are moving at/near same speed, there is then some dicey driving that has to be done by some. Accidents happen as well.
THEY SUCK.

Man i was just thinking the same thing! the great state of Texas is now setting up these speed radars on highways and it is going to be a real pain in the ass considering i travel at an avg speed of 75mph, only prob with this model of plate flippers is that its so bulky and the police will detect it no time.. then your’re really screwed..

You’re right, but there is a photo ticket location on the high way (or perhaps that’s just what they want you to think), and they put a giant sign up that says “This area is controlled by photo tickets”. It’s on the highway, it’s actually a pretty stupid place because my friend got a ticket for going 75 while passing a truck with an over-sized load. I wish I had this there.

But will it operate from the inside of your car?

Have you ever even been nailed by a speed camera? By the time you realize it (FLASH-FLASH-FLASH) you’re already way beyond the point where you might be able to reach down, fumble for some little idiotic switch, then activate it…then the few milliseconds it takes for it to drop…

What a waist of time. Unless you are approaching a known photo radar location and hit it BEFORE you get there… You’re still hosed.

What a load of crap it do not even flip open 90 degrees a speed camera could still read your plate from a distance.
